Laser Vision CorrectionAre you considering surgery to correct your vision?
Dr. Williams has worked with patients, for over seven years, who received the benefits of refractive surgery reducing their dependence on glasses or contacts.
Laser vision correction can now correct for both nearsightedness and farsightedness, and it is done on an outpatient basis.
If you are interested in refractive surgery, Dr. Williams can provide a consultation to determine whether you may be a successful candidate for this procedure. If you are a good candidate, you will be referred to a laser center and laser surgeons which we consider to be the best for your care. It takes only a few hours on the day of surgery.
Our office will provide refractive surgery services, including both pre-operative and post-operative care. We will follow your new vision through scheduled examinations for one year.
For further questions, please give us a call to schedule a consultation.

Dry Eye Treatment
Dry, Red, Itchy, Burning, Watery or Sensitive Eyes?
Tear related problems are the most common medical reason people visit eye doctors.
If there are not enough lubricating tears on the surface of your eyes, you may experience symptoms such as dry, red, itchy, burning or watery eyes, sensetivity to sunlight, irritation and discomfort or even pain.
Treatment OptionsAlthough there have been many advances in eye drops or lubrication therapy, this is not always the best treatment for every one. One option to eye drops are tear saver plugs. Herrick Plugs are small, non-dissolvable lacrimal plugs which may provide long term relief from dry eye symptoms. Dr. Williams can insert these plugs in a matter of minutes during an office visit. After placement, the plugs cannot be seen, won't rub out or scratch your cornea, usually are not felt, and are removable. Why suffer any longer?
Worldwide, more than one million people have been treated with dissolvable and non-dissolvable lacrimal or punctum plugs. Join the growing number of people who have chosen lacrimal occlusion to overcome their dry eye symptoms.
There is no known cure for dry eye, but we can help alleviate the symptoms.

CataractsThe natural lens in the eye gradually becomes less clear as we get older. When opacities develop in the lens and the lens gets too hazy, vision will be impaired.
Our office can diagnose and manage cataract care. When the cataract affects the vision to the extent that you cannot read or see distant objects comfortably, we will recommend cataract surgery. Our office co-manages with cataract specialists that are proven experts in cataract surgery. Cataract surgery can provide you with a bright new world of vision.

Diabetic Eye HealthDiabetes is the leading cause of new blindness in adults between the ages of 18 to 72.
For this reason, all diabetic patients should have a dilated retinal examination at least once each year.
Early damage from diabetes is both detactable during your annual eye health examination and treatable.
With Digital Retinal Imaging, Dr. Williams can review the health of your retina with you, during your examination, as well as share these images with your family doctor.
In addition to Digital Retinal Imaging, our Scanning Laser Ophthalmoscope can show subtle changes in diabetic eye disease to help in treatment decisions.

GlaucomaThe greatest danger of glaucoma is that the disease is painless and without obvious symptoms until significant vision loss has occurred.
Glaucoma gradually destroys the optic nerve tissue in the back of the eye. The most common cause is from pressure being too high inside the eye, but high blood pressure and diabetes as well as other diseases may increase the risk of glaucoma. We always test for glaucoma during your annual eye examination.
In addition to our Digital Retinal Imaging, Dr. Williams also uses a Scanning Laser Ophthalmoscope to monitor even the smallest changes in the health of the optic nerve.
If you are diagnosed with glaucoma, we typically prescribe medications which lower the eye pressure. Most forms of glaucoma are successfully treated with eye drops.
